Why become a Jungian analyst
Foundation course on Jung's analytical psychology
and its clinical application
12/13/14 Apr 2018
Hong Kong
Venue
Park Hotel
61-65 Chatham Road South, Tsim She Tsui
Time: 9:15 am - 5:30 pm

This coming foundation workshop offers an introduction to central themes of Jungian psychology.

Many of us are attracted to know more about Jungian approach and what it may add to daily psychological and psychiatric practice. When starting to read Carl Gustav Jung's writing, we may easily get confused with a completely new psychological glossary. In the immense body of Jungian's literature, we hope to provide a fundamental group work for further study and practice. We selected the most clinical relevant themes and address these in a through and critical way. Topics covered are structure of the psyche, the ego and the personal, cultural and archetypal unconscious, transference/countertransference and active imagination.

Apart for fundamental theory, clinical relevance of unconscious material will be discussed. How to incorporate the material form fairytales, dreams, sandplay into analytic formulation will be illustrated.

Speakers:
Marta Tibaldi, Jungian analyst, Liaison Person of IAAP HK Developing Group
Teresa Chan, Jungian analyst
Alexander Esterhuyzen, Jungian analyst
Shirley Ma, Jungian analyst
Adelina Wong, Jungian analyst

Why become a Jungian analyst?
Differences between psychotherapy and Jungian analysis
by Marta Tibaldi, IAAP Liaison analyst

A reflection on the theoretical and practical differences between a psychotherapeutic and a Jungian approach in a therapeutic session. Going beyond the psychotherapeutic goal of treating clients on the conscious level of their narrative, the analytical approach looks also at the unconscious information coming from the deep level of the mind thanks to dreams and spontaneous images, or expressive means such as writing, drawing, sandplay etc. The conscious and unconscious dynamics and their symbolic correlation are investigated, unveiling each persons’ individual path to meaning and wholeness.
